The Final Project for this course is a 10-page paper that provides the learner with the opportunity to articulate a deepened understanding of the healthcare professional as an educator along with key concepts concerning teaching, learning, and curriculum development. The requirements of the paper are as follows: • Must use APA formatting throughout the paper. • Must be double-spaced with 1-inch margins all around. • Must use 12-pt Times New Roman, black font. • Must be a minimum of 10 pages in length – Total length does not include title/cover page, abstract, reference section or appendix. • Must have a minimum of 8 peer-reviewed scholarly references – REMEMBER – it is inappropriate to list a source in the Reference section if you do not use it as support (in-text) within your work – If you use a source in-text, reference it at the end – I will cross-check. At least 8 different scholarly references must be evidenced by your in-text citations • Each section should be identified with a title heading – Purpose; Learning Objectives; Content, etc. **Review rubric thoroughly** You will submit a 10-page paper in which you will develop a Lesson Plan (Bastable S. Figure Link: ) to be presented to first-year clinical students or patients in your profession. Pick an appropriate topic for your audience and map out your lesson plan accordingly. You should have no trouble attaining the minimum required page count (which is what most students are concerned about). Follow the guidelines below and you will stay on track with the project requirements. Please include: Cover/Title page – (topic title, your name, course number/name) Abstract – (1-2 paragraphs in length) Teaching Plan – Separate page directly following the abstract. Present this in the table format as shown on page 474 (Figure ) Once you have completed this table, you must format the body/conclusion sections of your paper in paragraph format using correct APA in-text citations, wherever necessary. Provide the following: 4. Description of the learning session including the target audience (include any background information here) 5. Purpose/Goal of the learning session specific to the audience (support your teaching philosophy here also) 6. Outline of Learning Objectives – develop and list at least 5-7 learning objectives for your lesson plan 7. Instruction Method/Format – explain the instructional medium you will use to disseminate information – lectures, presentations, demonstrations, handouts, flyers, etc.? What will be the instructional format – classes, sessions? What will be the duration of instruction? Explain what learning objectives you will accomplish in each of these sessions. 8. Instruction Duration – describe the duration of instruction and the total time allotted to complete instruction 9. Instructional Resources – tools/equipment/materials needed for instruction 10.
