· Validated scale measures of job satisfaction correlate positively with validated scale measures of job performance.
· Employees who quit without exit interviews cause higher recruitment replacement costs than do employees who participate in an exit interview.
Provide a box and arrow model of your hypothesis immediately after the hypothesis (or hypotheses).
Study Context
In this section, write one paragraph (≤ 150 words) that describes how your organization measures your selected human capital variable, monitors its impact on expected outcomes, evaluates outcome impacts, and enhances future outcomes by applying interventions on individuals and/or on organizational outcomes. Focus on facts; no opinions. Follow this with a second paragraph (≤ 150 words) that based on knowledge from this course, expresses the extent to which you believe your organization can improve in: (a) measuring the human capital variable, (b) managing the human capital variable, and (c) demonstrating objective and systematic impacts on individual performance or on organizational outcomes. Again, focus on facts, not on opinions.
Research Design Methods and Measures
In this section, write one paragraph (≤ 150 words), that (a) states the research strategy and corresponding research design through which you would conduct the proposed study, and (b)
provides a valid and reliable scholarly literature measure (viz. empirical scale) for each variable in your model, with citations. You do not have to provide the full scale, but you will have to explain it briefly with justification.
The minimum number of scale measures is two (one IV measure and one DV measure). Keep the study simple. You may use up to three measures (such as one IV, one MV, and one DV). Many students make the mistake of taking “popular literature” measures as proxies in their first draft. Do not do this. Limit this proposal to 3 variables. Use measures found in empirically-tested scholarly articles. You may not use popular, unreliable, or simplistic measurement scales. Popular and unreliable scales introduce confounds that threaten all validity by types.
In the second paragraph (≤ 150 words), state the statistical method suitable for your hypothesis. Give a compelling argument for your selected method and your selected measures. Discuss their strengths in relation to alternative measures and statistical methods that you opted to exclude. For this exercise, you may choose t-tests (one-way or repeated measures), correlations, regression, a one-way ANOVA, or a Chi-Square. Explain the reasons for not using other methods.
